Introduction

Welcome to Shared Luggage. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our platform, which connects individuals who wish to send items with travelers willing to carry those items in exchange for compensation. By accessing our website or mobile application, creating an account, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms & Conditions, you should not use our services.

Platform Role

Shared Luggage acts solely as a digital platform facilitating connections between users—senders and travelers. We do not handle, store, or transport any items ourselves, and we are not responsible for the success of any delivery or transaction. Our role is to provide tools such as profile creation, matching algorithms, escrow payment protection, messaging, and tracking features that allow users to manage their deliveries securely and efficiently.

Eligibility

To use Shared Luggage, you must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into legally binding agreements. By registering an account, you confirm that all information you provide is truthful, complete, and kept up to date. You also agree that you will not use the platform on behalf of another person or organization without proper authorization.

User Responsibilities

All users are expected to act honestly and respectfully. Senders are responsible for accurately describing their packages, ensuring items are legally permitted, and packaging items securely for travel. Travelers are responsible for truthfully stating their travel plans, understanding local customs and regulations, and ensuring the item is carried and delivered safely. Both parties must follow local laws and Shared Luggage’s policies at all times.

Prohibited Items

Items prohibited by local, national, or international law cannot be sent through the platform. This includes but is not limited to: firearms, weapons, illegal drugs, live animals, flammable materials, perishable food, counterfeit goods, and items requiring special licensing. Shared Luggage reserves the right to suspend any account found in violation of these rules and may cooperate with law enforcement if necessary.

Identity Verification

To promote a safe and trustworthy community, all users must complete a one-time identity verification process using a government-issued ID. This helps us verify who you are, prevent fraudulent accounts, and ensure accountability within the platform. Shared Luggage uses secure, encrypted tools to store and protect your information in compliance with global data privacy standards.

Payment & Escrow

When a delivery is agreed upon, the sender pays through our secure escrow system. Funds are held until the delivery is completed and confirmed. Once the sender verifies receipt of the package in good condition, payment is released to the traveler. This protects both parties and ensures a fair transaction. Shared Luggage charges a small service fee to maintain the platform and provide ongoing support.

Disputes & Refunds

In the rare case of a dispute (e.g., undelivered items, damage, or payment issues), users must first attempt to resolve the issue through our in-app messaging. If a resolution cannot be reached, either party may contact our support team with relevant evidence (photos, receipts, chat logs). Shared Luggage will review the case and make a final decision. Refunds, full or partial, will be issued at our discretion.

Account Suspension & Termination

Shared Luggage reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any user account found to be violating our Terms & Conditions, participating in fraud, using abusive language, posting illegal content, or attempting to harm the platform or other users. Suspended users may not create new accounts without prior written permission.

Modification of Terms

We may revise these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect platform updates, legal changes, or user feedback. When changes occur, we will notify users through email or in-app alerts. Continued use of the platform after the changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
